Sunday Cures

I almost forgot how hectic the holiday season can get, with back-to-back-to-back parties and soirees. So there's practically no time for the old-fashion method of lounging around in PJs and watching reruns of The Real Housewives to cure the ailments of last night. To get back on your dancing (or  holiday shopping) feet in no time...

First take some aspirin to get rid of your headache so you can actually function. Wash it down with coconut water to replenish your antioxidants and electrolytes stat. My favorite brand is Taste Nirvana - all natural and amazing taste.  I promise coconut water will do wonders in knocking you out of zombie mode.

Now to look the part - after cleansing your face, take honey from your kitchen and use it as a mask for ten minutes. Honey instantly brightens and hydrates your skin, while restoring antioxidants.  You can add brown sugar or olive oil for more benefits. It might be a sticky mess, but it is SO worth it and is what I swear by.

The one thing that can give away a long night is tired, puffy eyes. Sunday Riley 'Start Over' takes care of that in 30 seconds so no one has to suspect you karaoke'd til 5AM in KTown. It tightens and hydrates your undereye and literally wakes you up. There's an initial sting, but hey beauty is pain, and the effects make this a true winner. Now since you're just off to brunch with the ladies, no need to get all dolled up again (cause your true friends see your inner beauty *truth*). Your skin deserves to breathe and your natural beauty will shine. Just a dab of Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge in powder pink and a swipe of NARS The Multiple in Copacabana on the cheeks will bring life back to your face.

And if all else fails...

BAM

Ain't no shame in rockin the Olsen look to brunch.

Say Hi! Kathleen of Inspirafashion

Meet Kathleen, the sweet fashion blogger behind the fabulous blog, Inspirafashion. A stylish Bay Area native with a penchant for feminine, vintage, and edited pieces answers a few questions for the curious.

Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start your Inspirafashion.

My name's Kathleen and I've ran my personal style blog for 2 years now. Haha, funny story but it was a summer when boredom took over, and I came across fashion blogs, and decided why not start a Chictopia account? From there, I took photos of my personal style and came up with my blog name, Inspirafashion -- mixing inspiration and fashion together. Since my blog's start, I've had such an amazing opportunity to connect with readers, brands, and websites all over the world and share my love for fashion and styling.

Most treasured possession?

Hands down, my iPhone. I cannot live without it. One time I almost dropped it (and lost it), had a mini heart attack. It's my portable connection with social media (which I have a lot of) as well as my love for iPhoneography, with my Instagram ;).

One thing we don't know about you?

I've been a Pescetarian (no meat, but fish/seafood) for about 8 years now.  I really can't give up my love for sushi.

A night to remember?

My 22nd birthday, I wasn't expecting much, 22 being such a random age, but it was so much fun. I had all my best girlfriends with me at Infusion Lounge in SF, danced the night away with girly drinks. It's always a fun time with them. Oh and one of my best friends as a prank snuck little bit of meat in my food -- I guess when drunk, I'm a meat-eater? Not fair.

How do you get party-ready?

It's always fun getting ready with my girlfriends. Makeup first, hair, then the bad part is trying to figure out what to wear. I end up with a huge pile of clothes by the end of it all. And of course there's pre-gaming involved with lots of outfit pictures ;P.

Party behavior?

Dance til my feet are killing me. Sandals are my best friend by the end of the night.

After-party?

Pig out on fast food, soo bad yet so good. It's the best dilemma.

hello skater girl

dress: LAST NIGHT // jacket: Yves Saint Laurent // ring: Kelly Wearstler // beanie: A.P.C. // bag: Proenza Schouler PS11 // shoes: Marni

It's all about balance when it comes to modern street style - there's beauty and skill in mixing high and low and sending glamour to the streets. This season, we like to charm things up with shiny metallics and bold colors, giving grunge a nice strong twist.

We just can't stop drooooling over the electric orange PS11.

DIY of the Day: Envelopes

1. Center the card on the magazine page
2. Fold in the side margins to the card width
3. Apply double-sided tape to the top of the margin folds
4. Fold magazine page at the bottom of the card
5. Fold in the corners of the top flap with double-sided tape

Voila! Tons of old men's magazines recycled for the greater fun of girl-kind.
